if you are in south you should definitely go with calicut.Also calicut is better in terms of studies.

Well, first of all congratulations on being qualified for one of the best engineering colleges in India. I think it doesn't matter if you take any of these colleges, your future is going to be bright if you focus on your studies well. If you ask me, I will tell you take up MNNIT Allahabad because it is a very prestigious college and the campus placements always reach to atleast one crore every year. Even for the mechanical branch, the placement is quite high if you perform well enough for all four years. All the best!
