The entrance test for B.A in English is a objective cum subjective test. You will be asked very basic questions on grammer and punctuations. Comprehension is a very important aspect from the entrance examination point of view. There wont be any question testing your general knowledge. You might be given to analyze a piece of literature critically. Overall, they will test your grip over the language rather than literature.
