Dear Hari, JNU has changed its exam pattern from this year. And you havent mentioned which stream under MA are you interested in pursuing. Please visit their home page at: http://www.jnu.ac.in/node.

Under the admissions section, you will see JNU Admissions (e-prospectus). You will find the syllabus for each course. You can check the subject you are intersted in and prepare accordingly.

Jawaharlal Nehru University usually has its entrance exam which is a little tricky and challenging. For preparing I would advise you to research a little bit about your subject syllabus. Prepare by solving previous years JNU question papers. Also solving NET and SET question papers will be a lot of help. For books I would suggest NCERT because i believe it's good enough.
