Same question . So worried about this

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 13th Feb, 2021

Hi

Actually, as of now students who are more than 25 years old are eligible for Neet examination until the supreme court give its judgement , so even if you are more than 25 years old you are eligible for neet 2021 , but the same is difficult to say for Neet 2022 and onwards because Supreme Court may give its judgement in the meantime and then the eligibility will completely the depend on the outcome of the judgement.

This case is in Supreme Court since 2018 and till now the Supreme Court has not given its final verdict yet . So , to be practical there are less chances that final verdict will be out by 2022 or it is even possible that the verdict is in favour and it declares students who are more than 25 years old as eligible for Neet but yes  no one knows future and also these things are not in our hands so what is in your hand is Neet preparation so don't think much just start your preparation.

To be eligible for neet 2022 , you should have also passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and must have got:-

-) at least  50  % in aggregate of PCB  i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology  in 12th examination  if belongs to general category

-) at least  40%  in aggregate of PCB if belongs to  Obc/ Sc /st category

-)at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of general pwd candidates to be eligible.

Hello Aspirant,

As of now you are eligible for NEET 2021 because there is no upper age limit for NEET but there is minimum age limit for NEET which is 17 years which means that if you want to appear for NEET 2021 the you must have completed your 17 years on December 31st 2021 and suppose if the verdict for upper age limit for NEET comes then Hon'ble Supreme Court will declare it in a way so that it will not affect the aspirants preparing for it already like for e.g. they can give verdict with the time duration of 2 years or 1 year.

Apart from the age criteria you should have passed your class 12th/PUC with Physics, Biology and Chemistry as mandatory subjects and also you should have your minimum aggregate of 50% separately in theory as well as practical part for Unreserved category, 40% for OBC/SC/ST and 45% for PwD certificate holders. Also note that in your curriculum English subject should also be there.

So, if all above eligibility criteria are fulfilled by you then you can appear for NEET UG 2021.

D Nunez See as of now the candidates of 25+ age are also provisionally eligible for NEET and for NEET 2022 till now guidelines have not been issued and most probably SC will release verdict at least an year before the next examination year so if you want to start your preparation of NEET 2022 then you should start it immediately and there are very less chances that the verdict gets out for NEET in this year so if it happens after NEET 2022 then you will not face any problem.
