I completed 12th in 2018 with 95% (PCMB). How many years I can write JEE MAINS? How many years one can appear after 12th? Is it advisable?

Hello Nithish
Well u can give JEE mains 3 consecutive years as from 2019 onwards you can give JEE mains twice in a year, as you have said you have passed 12th standard in 2018 you will give your last JEE mains entrance exam in the year 2020 (if you have given JEE mains in 2018 then only and if you have given JEE mains first time in the year 2019 then you will give your last JEE mains exam in the year 2021) , which means from 2019 onwards a student will give 6 times JEE mains in 3 consecutive years. Hope you have got your answer.
Good luck.

As per the new scheme, the JEE (Main) - 2019 exam would be

conducted twice in a year. The Number of attempts for

admission in a particular academic session will be treated as

One. The age eligibility as prescribed under clause Point No-

2.9 “Eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) – 2019” allows a

candidate to appear in JEE (Main) for three consecutive years

Hey there,

You can appear for JEE mains in year 2018, 2019 and 2020. You will be allowed to appear for JEE advanced only 2 times i.e; 2018 and 2019. I will suggest you to go for another drop for JEE mains if you have not scored well this year.

Good luck !

Is it advisable to have 2 year drop after 12th? Won't they affect my placements even if I get TOP NITs? And about my future studies/career?  JEE ADVANCED only 2 times? What if I haven't applied/written JEE ADVANCED in 2018? Will I be able to write it in 2019 only or both in 2019, 2020?? Thank You.
