Yes, you can give the JEE Main exam even if you took a two-year gap to finish your 12th class due to any reason. Here are the relevant eligibility criteria for JEE Main:
1. Year of Passing 12th Standard:
For JEE Main 2024, candidates who passed their 12th class exams in 2022, 2023, or are appearing in 2024 are eligible to apply.
A two-year gap after the 12th class is permissible, as long as the candidate's year of passing falls within the acceptable range for that particular years JEE Main.
2. Number of Attempts:
A candidate can attempt JEE Main a maximum of three consecutive years. Since JEE Main is conducted twice a year, this gives six attempts in total.
3. Other Criteria:
Candidates need to have studied the required subjects in their 12th standard (Physics, Mathematics, and one among Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject).
There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main.
Therefore, if a student takes a two-year gap after their 12th class, they are still eligible to apply for and take the JEE Main exam, provided they meet the other eligibility criteria mentioned above.
