With this percentile, your rank is around 1 lakh and last year closing rank for all IIITs was under 35000.

Like IIIT Assam has the closing rank of 32112 and the closing rank for IIIT Sonepat was 31372.

That's why you are not likely to get a seat in any of the IIITs.

If you belong to General category chances of getting Mechanical branch in IIITs is very less. If you belong to reserved category then also your chances of getting Mechanical branch in IIITs are very less.

The cut-off for IIIT Kanchipuram for B.E Mechanical Engineering was around 36990 rank in 2018 and in 2017 it was around 33k. For top IIITs the cutoff is still more.


So don't lose hope and try to apply for other universities and private colleges of your state to ensure a seat.
