Hope you are doing well, as per your concern your rank is near about 1500 and as you have said you belong to general category there is least chance for you to get Assam Engineering college (AEC) but may get Jorhat engineering college (JEC) or Jorhat Institute of science and technology (JIST). In JEC you may not get preferable branch but in JIST you can get a preferable branch. Hope these helped you.

Yes, you can get a seat in AEC or JEC but you may not get your desired branch or core subjects. I'll advice you to apply for different entrances as well along with AEC and JEC.
