Well with 38k rank you will hardly get any nit.if you apply for home state quota you might get some branches like textile, food processing,material science and metallurgy, mining
If you want a nit tag you can opt for some north eastern nits like nit arunachal Pradesh, nit Sikkim, nit meghalaya, nit tripura. As their general cutoffs are low.

Hi bro,
As this is not a good score to get admission into any
top prestigious college of engineering among nits and iiits.
Yes you can definitely get into nits as well as iiits but have to compromise with your branch to get admission into some reputable nits.
Like you can get admission into nit nagpur,
Nit bhopal, nit surat , nit jamshedpur , nit kurukshetra .
But all this nits will allow you to pursue either metallurgical engineering , mining , or biotechnology
Like branches.

So better optioning for lower nits for good branches you should either option for any other councelling or you can even take a drop for jee 2020.
