If you belong to general or OBC, then with 50 marks you won't land in any NITs’. There are chances of getting, Government engineering colleges state funded, there also you will find hard to get the core branches such as the thermal or design.

And if you belong to SC/ST then you may get NIT or new IIT but interdisciplinary branches.

Coming down to PSU, you may be shortlisted for the interview if you belong to latter branch, but least chance of selection. ( even chances of getting interview call is harder).

Due to rise in ruthless competition year by year, cutoffs for PG admission at IIT and other prestigious institute are getting higher.
