Admission to Engineering courses in Maharashtra is based on merit in MHT-CET or JEE Main. The candidates who wish to appear for MHT CET need to apply for MHT CET Entrance Examination to get admission based on MHT CET course. The candidates who wish to get admission based on JEE Main score can directly apply for MHT CET counselling without the need to apply for MHT CET entrance examination. In your case, you wish to apply for admission based on JEE Main score so you need to apply for MHT CET counselling only, you do not have to apply for MHT CET Entrance Examination. The candidates applying based on JEE Main score for the counselling need to pay the counselling fee. The counselling fee for General Category, Outside Maharashtra State Applicant and Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries is Rs. 800, for Reserved Category from Maharashtra State and Persons with Disability applicants from Maharashtra it is Rs. 600 and for Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Foreign National is Rs. 5000. There is no counselling fee for the candidates appearing for MHT CET. The registration for MHTCET counselling will start after the declaration of JEE Main and MHT CET results.
