Sorry to say but at this rank according to previous years cutoff  it's very difficult to get into NIT's in civil or mechanical branch.

So you can try for other colleges .

I regret to inform you that with such a low score you cannot get admission into any prestigious college like nits or iiits.
As nits or iiits are one of the most sought colleges in india hence they have high cutoffs to get admission into it.
With obc rank 44k it really difficult for you get any seats so you cannot even hope for your  preferred branch.
Even considering you with home state though you might not get seats in any northeast nits.
Either you take part in any other councelling or you can take a year drop to work harder for next year jee.
