Hello Rijo Reji Mathew, If you got 96.2 percentile in JEE Main then your rank after JEE Main April will be around 40 thousand. With this rank as a general candidate there is very less chance that you will get Computer Science in NIT.

2019 Closing Cutoff rank for Computer science in some NIT's are

NIT Srinagar - 27054

NIT Nagaland - 40410

NIT Hamirpur-11213

NIT Silchar - 13237

NIT Meghalaya-26478

NIT Uttrakhand-19151

So there is very less chance that you will get Computer Science in NIT,If you want to pursue Computer Science in NIT's then you should try to increase your percentile around 98 in JEE Main April.

Yes, you definitely get NIT but it is not sure that you get CSE stream...
