You should go with your choice whatever you like. Now coming to college if you don't get iit, nit, bits pilani. then vit is the best option. And also everything is great ther, the infrastructure , faculty, campus environment, placement is also good, also the research environment and it is better than vasavi. But if you don't like mechanical then don't just take mechanical for the sake of placement.
