I guess they just are required for the eligibility criteria. Otherwise on the basis of these marks nobody gives you a job in govt sector.

You need to pass different exams and score well to land into any govt organization.

Gate/IES/IAS/Mppsc etc are various exams you need to qualify with high scores.

Moreover if you wanna go for banking sector , there are other exams as well.
