Hello,

The candidates with 40% of visual disability or more than40% are not eligible to pursue the Graduate Medical Education. Candidates who have less than 40% of visual disability are eligible, but they do not qualify for reservation as they do not fulfil benchmark.

There are 3 caregories of visual disability as concerned with MBBS admission in India.

1.people with visual disability less than 40% - they are eligible to pursue MBBS but can't avail the PwD quota/reservation as the minimum disability required for reservation is 40% ( in all type of disabilities.

2.people with visual disability equal to or greater than 40% - They are not eligible to pursue MBBS (although in all other types of disability, the upper limit for disability is 80% , but here in visual disability, Honble Supreme court has passed this verdict)

3.However, people with visual impairment greater than or equal to 40% can pursue MBBS as well as avail reservation under PwD  if and only if, they can prove that with use of advanced visual aids for low vision their visual impairment can be brought below 40%.
