Dear Aswin, in 2018, 551 was the cut off for AFMC boys and girls. And admission for AFMC seats is conducted by DGHS on behalf of MCC through All India Counselling. Having said that, cut offs change every year and are dependant on various factors like no.of seats available, no.of candidates appearing for the exam, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. This year the cut offs went as higher as 596 for boys and for girls it has been 610. Please check our page for more information: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-afmc

First of all, your board marks won't get considered as fas as your NEET results are concerned. Only NEET score is needed for getting into AFMC and then the next levels of their own college help you to get through in AFMC college.

I think it was necessary to fill the AFMC form before NEET..anyways please refer to the AFMC brochure once since some things might change each year.

I'll brief you about the procedure which took place last year:

  • We registered for AFMC before the AIPMT 2018 exam.
  • We got the marks and rank for AIPMT.
  • AFMC took out its cutoff marks which were 478 for boys and 484 for girls.
  • AFMC then prepared its list for the candidates who had qualified for the interview round by getting above cutoff marks.
  • Candidates were placed into batches of 100..and 2 batches were interviewed in a single day.. the afternoon batch's usually got delayed and were called again the next day.
  • Candidates were then brought in for the ToELR or the logic test which has questions related to topics in English and General logic and carried a total of 80 marks.
  • The candidates then proceed for the psychometric analysis in which around 50 questions were asked through a computer based test. Marks are not alloted for this test; this test is just to find out about the personality of the candidates.
  • The candidates then finally proceed for the interview which have a board of medical specialists including the dean. Interview carries 50 marks.
  • The final merit list is then calculated as follows (AIPMT marks+ToELR marks)/4+Interview Marks.
  • Separate merit lists are prepared for boys and girls.
  • The selected candidates then undergo strict medical examination.
  • After medical examination...you are selected!

I hope this helps.

BEST OF LUCK!
