Dear Harish, the CAT sectional weightage for each IIM for SC Catrgory is as follows:

QA        DLR       VRC        Overall

IIM Ahmedabad          60           60          60             70

IIM Bangalore             65           65          70             75

IIM Calcutta                60           60          65             70

IIM Indore                    55           55         55              70

IIM Lucknow               55             55        55             70

IIM Kozikhode            50           50          50              65

These are the sectional weightages. But each IIM has its own selection procedure after shortlisting from CAT score.

IIM Ahmedabad uses this formula for 10th and 12th classes:

10th Rating:

Percent score         Rating Score

<= 55                                   1

> 55 and <= 60                  2

> 60 and <= 70                  3

> 70 and <= 80                  5

> 80 and <= 90                  8

> 90                                    10

For Bachelor's this scale is used:

Percent score      Rating Score

<= 55                             1

> 55 and <= 60            2

> 60 and <= 62            3

> 62 and <= 65            5

> 65 and <= 70            8

> 70                             10

Minimum cut offs for Average percent of marks scores:

Stream in 12th             Cut off for SC Category

Science                                         70

From each Academic sectors top 5% from each stream and each Category will be short listed. It might be 32 for SC Category.

After shortlisting the Candidates, the selected Candidates will have to go through WAT and PI rounds. Selection at this stage will strictly be based on the shortlisting of the candidates done separately for each Category ) on the basis of their Final Composite Score. . The numbers selected in different reservation categories will be in proportions mandated by law.

Personal Interview Multiplication Factor (PIF) = 0.50

AWT Multiplication Factor (AWTF) = 0.10

CAT Score Multiplication Factor for Final Composite Score (CATF_FCS) = 0.25

Application Rating Multiplication Factor for Final Composite Score (ARF_FCS) = 0.15

After the AWT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIMA to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in AWT & PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience, etc.

So for IIM A, it should be nothing less than 85-90%.

IIM Bangalore:

For all the Candidates shortlisted, the 10th and 12th board results are initially adjusted by dividing each such score by 90th percentile score of that board. And then an adjusted score is calculated for the Bachelor's degree for each of the candidates based on the final scores obtained by the candidate are used for the Bachelor's degree and professional degrees. For example,

CAT = 40

10th board = 20

12th board = 10

Bachelors = 20

Gender Diversity = 2

Work Experience = 8

The 40 points for CAT are derived from the performance in each of the three sections as follows:

Verbal & Reading Comprehension - 14 points

Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning - 16 points Quantitative Aptitude - 10 points.

Here as well, your score should be nothing less than 85%.

IIM Calcutta:

And the final selection is based on:

CAT 2020 Score:  30

Personal Interview:  48

Written Ability Test: 10

Academic Diversity:  04

Work Experience:  08

Total: 100

You need to score atleast 80%.

IIM Indore:

Candidates are shortlisted using the merit list generated based on Composite score.

Composite score is calculated as follows:

10th Standard: 36*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]

12th Standard: 40*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]

CAT 2019 score: 20*[Candidate's overall score /Highest CAT score]

Gender Diversity Factor: = 4 for female applicants

=0 for other applicants

Composite score= sum of the above scores

Now coming to the final selection, the computation of final composite score is considered as follows:

10th Standard: 10*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]

12th Standard: 10*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]

CAT 2019 score: 20*[Candidate's overall score /Highest CAT score]

WAT score: 20*[Z Candidate -Z min/ Z max-Z min]

PI score: 40* [Z Candidate-Z min/Z max-Z min]

So here, your score needs to be atleast 75-80%.

IIM Lucknow:

For being shortlisted for Written Ability Test and Personal Interview, the following chart is followed on a composite score of 100:

Scaled CAT Score: 60

12th marks: 10

Graduation: 10

Work Experience: 10

Diversity Factor for Academics: 5

Diversity Factor for Gender: 5

Method of scoring can be found on the official website. Those candidates who are eligible after these 2 rounds are called for Written Ability and Personal Interview Test. The final score is calculated based on this scale:

Common Admission Test: 30

Academic Performance (12th + Graduation): 5+5

Diversity Factor (DF academics +DF gender): 5

Work Experience: 5

Writing Ability Test: 10

Personal Interview: 40

Final Score: 100

IIM Lucknow needs nothing less than 85%.

IIM Kozikhide:

Component Weight

CAT 2020 Index Score: 75%

Class XII Percentage: 20%

Academic Diversity Factor: 5%

The short-listed candidates will have to appear for a WAT followed by a PI. IIM Kozhikode will conduct the PI and WAT.

In this process, the candidates will be writing an essay and a professional resume, which will be followed by the PI. The essay topic will be announced at the venue just before the WAT. The professional resume will be evaluated on length and depth of work experience, quality of academic and professional qualifications, managerial and leadership attributes and exceptional academic, co-curricular and

extracurricular achievements of the candidates. During the PI, the panel will evaluate the academic efforts and disposition, general awareness and social disposition, attitude and personality. You will need 75%.

Hello aspirant,

For colleges accepting CAT scores for SC category:-

99.6+ : 2 out of top 3 IIMs (namely A, B and C)

98.6+:- IIM-L, FMS, MDI, SP Jain, IIT-B, IIM-K, IIM-I

96.6+:- Newer IIMs (Raipur, Ranchi, Kochi, Udaipur, Kashipur, Rohtak)

Most IIMs give a lot of weightage to Profile (10th, 12th & grad %age, work exp) and hence there is no fix cutoff for them.

Apart from these there are few other colleges that conduct their own exams namely

IIFT (Delhi & Kolkata Campus)

XAT (for XLRI & XIM-B)

TISSNET (for TISS)

MICAT (for MICA)

MHCET (for Jamnalal Bajaj IMS)

All The Best!!!
