Dear Kousik,  there are 20 IIMS and each IIM has a different selection criteria. While CAT score remains the main criteria for selection, IIMs also consider other factors like previous academic performance, work experience, gender and Academic diversity. Because CAT exam will be held at different slots, CAT scores will be normalised to ensure equivalence in the difficulty levels of the exams for both slots. IIM Kozikhode will normalise the CAT scores using percentile equivalence. Adjustment of location and scale differences of score distributions across different norms and then scores will be normalised. These scores will be then converted into percentiles for shortlisting and selection purposes.

IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore conduct their admission process separately.

The newly established IIMs follow a Common Admission Process which is also called CAP. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Common Written Ability Test and Personal Interview Rounds. A separate Institute wise merit list will be prepared and this merit list will be declared based on individual admission and selection criteria.

IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur will release their own merit list according to the CAT score or percentile and profile of the Candidate. There are no further rounds for these Institutions.

Few IIMs like IIM Kozikhode considers only your Graduation and 12th marks and not 10th marks. If you look at its shortlisitng criteria:

CAT Overall Index Score carried 75% weightage

Class 12 percentage carried 7.5% weightage

Graduation score carried 7.5% weightage

Work Experience carried 5% weightage

Academic diversity factor carried 5% weightage

So if CAT score gets 75% of the weightage, your CAT percentile should be nothing less than 95 if you want to get into any of the IIMs. More or less the rest 19 IIMs share the same criteria and when there is WAT, GD and PI is involved, the weightage shifts.

FMS, Delhi needs 95 percentile.

IIM Shillong: 92 percentile

NITIE Mumbai: 91 percentile

IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Tiruchirapalli, MDI Gurgaon, IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI New Delhi, XIM Bhubaneshwar and New IIMS need 90 percentile.

Now if your target is top B-School, your percentile should be between 85-90, so forth and so on. We shall help you with the CAT percentiles for few IIMs to give you an idea of what your score needs to be:

IIMs shortlist candidates for the interview stage based on their own criteria, which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interviews. Performance in the CAT examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may additionally use other factors such as the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs.

Hello,

.

Yes,you are eligible for IIM don't be much worried about it.You have scored Pretty good about score.

.

Candidates appearing for CAT must have bachelor's degree with at least 50% and 45% if you are SC/ST and PWD Category.

.

It is important to know that the admission criteria of each IIM is independent to mandate their own eligiblity criteria including CAT score, admission cut-offs, past academic years, relevant work experience etc.,
