With a NEET 2024 rank of 33,000 under the All India Quota (AIQ) , getting a seat in a government medical college (GMC) is challenging but not impossible, especially if you belong to a reserved category (OBC, SC, ST). For the general category, AIQ cutoffs for GMCs tend to close around the 15,000-25,000 rank range , but it can extend up to 30,000-35,000 in some lower-ranked government colleges.

Regarding fees, most government medical colleges charge between Rs. 1-5 lakhs per annum , so if you secure a GMC seat, the fees should likely fall within your range of Rs. 3-4 lakhs per annum .

If you belong to a reserved category, your chances are higher for securing a seat at this rank. It's recommended to keep an eye on state counseling as well, since cutoffs can be lower through state quotas.

Make sure to participate in both AIQ and state counseling rounds for the best chance.
