Students interested in studying robotics engineering should have strong foundations in mathematics and science.

Some of the courses commonly found in undergraduate degree programs are listed below:

Yes you can.

Robotics has a huge computer science part.


In fact, more and more, most of the value you can add to a robot is coming from the software. Many companies will focus on both mechanics, electronics and software to provide a complete service around the robot they sell. Some companies will only focus on developing software solution for robot applications.


As you can see there is (and there will be) much to do in robotics, regarding software.


So, yes, not only you can study robotics from your programming background, but it is also a very good choice regarding the future !
