Diploma in Animal Husbandry is a three or two-year full-time programme that focuses on imparting on-the-job training in animal care and breeding.

• ADMISSION PROCESS

The selection of candidates shall be strictly based on the merit of entrance exam conducted by the individual University/Institute. Some institutions shall offer admissions based on the merit of last qualifying examination. Among the entrances conducted by various Universities, the Diploma in Animal Husbandry Entrance Test (DAHET) conducted by MP Professional Examination Board (PEB) is an important exam to consider for admissions to colleges in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

• ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In order to seek admissions to Diploma in Animal Husbandry course a student should have passed a class 12th examination in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and/or Biology or Agriculture as compulsory subjects. They should have secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate and be minimum 16 years of age. Candidates belonging to reserved category shall be give 5% relaxation in the eligibility criteria.

On successful completion of Diploma in Animal Husbandry course, students may have many avenues to work in. Dairy farms, poultry farms, sheep and rabbit farms, stud farms, race clubs, animal clinics and private/government veterinary hospitals and clinics are areas that require people holding on-job knowledge and expertise. Also, the Army and BSFs employ Animal Husbandry professional for treating of their regiment horses, camels, mules and dogs.
