ENERGY - biotechnology uses the biological process such as fermentation and harnesses biocatalyst such as enzyme, yeast and microbes. 

After Bachelors of biotechnology you can definitely go for M.sc and other courses and then PhD if you want to go hardcore research. For which you have to start preparing for Net competitive exam conducted twice in a year. CSIR NET Exam is a though  net to crack but once qualified, life will easy and smooth as, you will getting fellowship worth 25,000 Rs per month.
