Hi,

I will advice until and unless she has interest in engineering, don't force her to do it.

Now coming to the question.

Today, there are multiple engineering colleges providing degree @ Rs 5 Lakh/ 4 years. Some private colleges charge upto Rs 2 Lakh/year and the outcome is, you child will be in some IT MNC earning Rs 4 Lakh/ year on papers.

My advice: Ask your daughter to pursue BSc or BEd from Ajmer/MP ( Best government college) . And do some computer course alongside.

The advantage of doing Bsc/BEd over engineering is

Less money in terms of fees

She will learn something

Can study for competitive exams easily.

Less pressure on her.

Variety of options available for her future growth.

There are lots of scope afterB.Sc.+M.Sc.but course content ofB.Sc. andM.Sc. isvery tough particularly in the field of higher Mathematical and Physical Sciencesand most of the things in Higher mathematics and Physics is abstract and very tough to understand. But basic sciences likeChemistry , Statistics Geophysics and Geology are comparatively easier than Mathematical and Physical Sciences and these subjects are highly demanding in fact more than engineering( Because of unavailability of candidates).

So I suggest youif your mathematics is strongthen only you should go for higher studies in Mathematical and physical sciences. And if you areaverage or just above averagethen you can go for subject like Chemistry, Statistics, Geology and Geophysics andif you are below average in Mathematics then I will not encourage you forB.Sc. in above all subjects. If after being a below average in Math you are going for higher study in the subjects then you are going to waste your time.
