First of all do you belong to obc creamy layer or obc non-creamy layer?

Reservation is only for OBC  non  creamy layer.

********* OBC  cl i.e obc creamy layer candidates are those whose parents annual income is more than 8 lakhs  per annum and they are not eligible for reservation

********* obc ncl i. e Obc non creamy layer are those candidates whose parents annual income is less than 8 lakh per annum and they are eligible for reservation.

If you belong to obc creamy layer, then you need to choose general as your category.

But even if you belong to obc- non creamy layer, then

Yes, you can definitely choose general or open as your category, but remember if you choose open or general as your category while filling the form, you won't be  eligible for 27% reservation which is there for obc ncl.

Yes of course you can apply under Open category, because Open category seats are open for all any candidate having any category reservation can get the open category seat even if he/she has some category reservation.

So when you will claim for open seat then you will not have to disclose your category certificate.

Yes you can apply under open category even if you have obc certificate. But I will advise you to apply under obc category if you have obc certificate as there are various advantages that you can get if you apply under obc category. Generally cut offs of open category also known as Genera category is high in comparison of other categories for all exam in India. While cut off for OBC category also known as other backward caste is generally lower than general caste for all type of exam.

So I advise you to apply under obc category.
