For sound engineering or diploma in sound engineering you should have studied physics,mathematics and chemistry as main subjects in 12th so you have to appear for all the subjects externally including practical but for sound design you need to appear for physics exam only and yes you can appear externally but please ask all the process from the institute you are taking admission that you need practical or not .If you don't want to go through all these you can start learning from mentor or you can take admission in institutes which do not demand science stream.You can click below the college which only demands for class +2 pass from any stream
