Hello Student,

I'm here to tell you that, For Josaa counselling procedure both the rank i.e. CRL and OBC-NCL category rank is used for getting admissions in prestigious colleges of engineering which are IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur & GFTIs.

Category Rank is used for getting admission to reserved seats available in the Institution.

Whereas counselling bodies other than Josaa such as TS EAMCET, OJEE, UPCET uses the CRL rank list only.

Hope this information helps you

Thank You

See if you fall under the Other Backward Cast (Non-Creamy Layer) category, then when the results will be declared, then you will get two ranks:

* CRL or the Common Rank List
* OBC-NCL or the cast rank list

On the admission part, wherever there will be reserved seats, there you'll have to enter your OBC-NCL rank and not your CRL.

Hope I have answered your question. All the best!
