To become a software engineer you can take B.Tech in Computer Science at your UG level.

Computer Science is a branch of engineering which deals in the study of basics of computer programming and networking, which includes topics related to computation, algorithms, programming languages, program design, computer software, computer hardware, etc

Although nowadays, its almost a trend of students in any branches be it Mechanical or Mathematics, to pursue their interest in Software Engineering, Finance and IT. However, since are clear with your goal, you must stick to B.Tech in either of Computer Science or IT as your branch of study. Hacking and Software Engineering are just applications, you can perform once your basics in Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms are strong.
