To answer your question,let me put the difference
between MBA and PGDM:

-MBA is offered by Universities or Central Body under government of India; On the other hand,PGDM is offered by autonomous institution.

-The course curriculum of MBA is rigid as it is bounded by University; but PGDM is more flexible and industry focused.

-MBA is not a residential program but PGDM is.

Technically there is no difference between the two,if you want to make your career in corporate sector. But when it comes to Government job,they require a degree not a diploma. As a degree program,MBA is globally accepted. But when an institution is approved by AIU i.e Association of Indian Universities,PGDM become equivalent to MBA. In that case you can avail all the advantage of a degree program with PGDM as well.Also,AIU approved PGDM is globally accepted.

And if you see 9 out of top 10 B-School provides PGDM not MBA, in India.

The difference between MBA and PGDM is given below :-

• MBA i.e Master of business administration is a degree course , and being a degree it is  little  more theoretical

• PGDM is graduate diploma in management i.e it is a diploma course, PGDM is accredited by Association of Indian Universities which makes it equivalent to MBA, it is more practical

So, there's  not much difference  between  MBA and PGDM , the only thing is that MBA is a degree course while  PGDM is a diploma course , also when it comes to job then there's no difference in the way companies  treat a PGDM and an MBA , even your Career growth is similar for both the courses and it  largely depends upon your performance.

But just to answer  your question,  MBA has little bit edge over PGDM as it has global acceptability for employment being a degree course rather than PGDM Diploma
