HISTORY
It was started in 2007 with the name of chandigarh group of college and became deemed university in 2012 so it is pretty new university  and this is the only reason you have never heard of it before.

first batch of chandigarh university will be pass out this year (2015)

LOCATION
Though its name is chandigarh university but it is 24 km far from main city and located in a village "Gharuan"(punjab not in chandigarh), living here is pretty intimidating and isolated from rest of the world.There is no place for hangout,pub and amusement park to get socialised except north country mall which is 10 km away form here.

You may visit city on weekends but it gets difficult when you have to do useless assignments and project shits(it's a very clever trick played by university to keep you busy so that you loose your all capabilities of thinking something unique and for making money for stationery shops inside the campus trust me :-P).

mohali is little closer than chandigarh.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Campus is quite impressive and big enough,they give more attention in making it green (even more than hiring quality teachers).Collectively there is 12-15 buildings each one is of 7 floors and still growing

but they don't have good enough library which can meet with the needs of student (they put more effort in their own marketing )

they have some work shops like welding,sheet metal,carpentry,lathe machine (turning),electric and electronic and you get chance once a week to work in them and personally this is the only place you will enjoy real learning.

CROWD
Since there is no eligibility requirement to get into or entrance exam the crowd quality is simply pathetic most of the people are from punjab and haryana have completed their high school studies in their state boards,they even dont how to read english.other than that many people comes from himachal,uttaranchal and jammu kashmir since there is not much colleges there.

classes are really crowdy, CSE branch has  approx 12000 freshers this time

at the end of the day you will find yourself with mediocre people who have no major goals in there life and just following sheep herd

STUDIES
well if you really want to learn something meaning full out of your college life then its probably  not the place for you, it is the university where you gonna learn how to pass in exam and get placed into some service based companies for 20k salary. Nobody gives a damn to real learning,knowing new things and stand above mediocrity.

This place is empty from inside in terms of knowledge,teachers are not really skilled and most of them have b tech degree only and many of them have studied from this university and you know what is worst they will make you listen their useless lectures which has no relevance with today's scenario because  biggest headache is attendence. they want at least 75% attendance in every subject in every  fortnight (every 15 days) and even single lecture you miss can put you in detained list and you will not be able to sit in the exam,that is so pathetic.

PLACEMENT
Many service based companies visit here like wipro,tcs,infosys which doesn't give salary more than 20-25 k per month ,you will hardly find any  product based company like google, microsoft, cisco etc

This year amazon had offered package of 22.5 lac but no one could cracked it.

SOME OTHER FACTS
one student had committed suicide in the campus last month.

Chandigarh University is a Private University located in Mohali, Punjab. It was established in the year 2012. At present, it offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral courses in various discipline.

Along with the regular courses, the University also offers a variety of integrated courses (BBA-LL.B/ BA-LL.B/ B.Sc-MBA/ B.Sc-B.Ed/ BA-B.Ed) and some specialized programs in collaboration with IBM and ICICI. Chandigarh University also offers B.E and B.Pharm courses in Lateral Entry mode. Applicationcum Registration form can be filled online or offline by paying the application fee by Credit/ Debit Card/ Net-Banking/ DD or through Challan.

For all UG courses such as BE, B.Arch, B.Pharm, BBA, BCA, B.Sc, B.P.Ed, BOT, BPT, BJMC, LL.B and B.Com, the university conducts Chandigarh University Scholarship Admission Test (CUSAT).JEE Main qualified candidates can also apply for BE.Candidates with a valid score in JEE Main (Paper II) or NATA  can also apply for B.Arch course.Chandigarh University conducts CU-PG-Entrance Test to offer admission in ME, M.Sc, LL.M, MCA, M.Com and MA courses.GATE qualified candidates are equally eligible to secure admission in ME.Merit in CAT/MAT/CMAT or C SAT conducted by Chandigarh University is the minimum admission criteria for MBA program.Chandigarh University also offers Diploma PG Diploma course in Yoga Education.For Ph.D. courses, CU-Ph.D. Entrance Test is conducted by the university although CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ GATE/ GPAT or SLET qualified candidates can also apply for admission.

The placements are the biggest Asset for the university. Here they got equal chances for getting placed in a reputed company. Each individual can have 3 placement offers at the end of the course. In MBA it starts from 3 rd semester and half of the students get placed till 4 the semester.
