Hello Omkar,

Here is the list of Exams you should give to get admission in respective colleges. I think you should prepare for both JEE Mains and MH CET to increase your chances of getting admission in good colleges in Maharashtra.

IIT Bombay: JEE Mains, JEE Advanced

NIT Nagpur, IIIT Pune, IIIT Nagpur: JEE Mains

ICT(Institute of Chemical Technology): JEE Mains or MHCET

ALL other colleges in Maharashtra including VJTI, Mumbai: MHCET

Hope it helps...

Hello
I think you better prefer mht cet as you have a better chance to get into top colleges in Maharashtra but if you want to join IIT or NIT you can opt for JEE exam.
All the best.
Thank you.

Hii Omkar;

My advice :

The colleges you mentioned (likes of vjti ) are top colleges and would require a very high rank in MH-CET that means its quite difficult to get their also .
So your statement that preparing for MH-CET is easy is correct but depends on the college's you want to go . The colleges's you pointed are tough nut to crack at least for Comp. Sc. branch ( which is currently in huge demand).
Now coming to IIT JEE , It will be even harder but I promise you that if you could get a top rank in MHCET then so will be the case in IIT JEE also .

Various Scenario's possible :

If your soul aim is computer science( non-changeable) and you don't want to leave your home or don't want to go far away from home then you could just give MH-CET because in IIT powai ( mumbai) CS closing rank is below 50 in general category, so even if you have that high preparation then also it is quite certain that you willn't get atleast top branches in IIT powai . So MH-CET is the option for you.

Now If you aren't branch specific but still not ready to go far away from home then also go ahead and prepare for IIT-JEE because if you work hard you will surely gets selected with a decent rank and could get atleast some branches in IIT powai .

In the last scenario, If you are/aren't branch specific but ready to go far away from home incase you get some IIT's far away from home then go ahead and prepare for IIT-JEE .

Final words :

If want to go for top engineering college's then IIT's are best at it. So without thinking of anything you should start you preparation for IIT-JEE.

Best of luck

All best colleges of Maharashtra preferred MHT CET
Entrance Exam. Before that you need to passed your 12 with 60% marks in (Physics , chemistry,Math).the exam is totally based on 12 board syllabus and level of exam is same at jee mains and you also go for jeemains because of some college also give preference to that also.

Hellofriend.

Youn can either go for the State government examination or either you can also go for JEE Main eamination. If you qualified in your state government entrance examination then alsoyou will get a chance to get admitted.

Hi,

Except IT Bombay, VNIT Nagpur; ICT (this has a All India Quota for JEE Main), all other leading colleges or institutes will use MHT CET scores. So my advice would be to go for MHT CET as you stand a good chance on account of your domicile status. Other state candidates wont have a chance for admissions and JEE Main scores are not used for the Govt ones. However the bottom line is to perform well.
