I wish to pursue my career on cyber forensics. But dont understand how to admit or choose college.. Plz hlp me

What is Cyber Forensics?

  • Cyber forensics lets you scientifically process stored data in an electrical format through capturing, imaging and analyzing. 
  • The main goal in this field is to identify, preserve, recover, analyze and present facts and opinions about the data present. 
  • It is culmination of multiple disciplines. You need to know the law for proper formal investigation, research methods in order to effectively handle evidence, and judgement in order to come to solutions by properly analysing the data present, learning the truth, and then taking actions based on what you have learnt.
  • It is a method which is used in civil proceeding along with a wide spread use in computer and mobile forensics. A legal proceeding requires processes like data recovery, tracing, analysis and investigation and that is where cyber forensics comes handy.

How to pursue Cyber Forensics:

  • You need to complete your Bachelors in Information Technology or Computer Sciences. You can then opt for Masters (M.Sc or M.Tech) in Information Security or Cyber Forensics.
  • You can do some certificated courses like CCFP, CHFI, AccessData, FTK Examination, EnCE, Data64, SANS Forensics. These courses will help you get in the cyber forensics department. 
  • You can even learn this through training in good IT Companies which will provide you knowledge not just about cyber forensics but also let you practically apply them.

  • A prospective job is in the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, run by the central government these organisation are located in multiple places in India.

To get into cyber forensics, you nees to hold a graduate degree in computer science,information technology or computer applications and a post graduation degree in cyber forensics or cyber security. Below are some of the top colleges for cyber forensics in India-
