Being a commerce student, you may not join Merchant Navy as PCM subjects are needed for it.

To join Merchant Army after class 12th, candidates need to have 50% aggregate marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board. Candidates after completing this needs to appear for the entrance exams conducted by the various colleges/universities. Some of the popular entrance exams are:

• JEE Mains and Advanced
• IMU CET
• HMI OET

After clearing this, candidates can get into various bachelor's program of Marine engineering and other specialisations  and after completing their Bachelor's candidates can join Merchant Navy at the entry level or can go for post graduation.
