Dear Sobana,  every candidate has to qualify in NEET based on his/her category. It is 50% for General Category, 40% for SC,ST,OBC. It is 50% and 40% of top NEET score. So for example if top NEET score is 400, you should atleast score 100 to be qualified in NEET. Now not every qualified candidate can get a Medical seat. With 15 lakh students appearing for NEET for approximately 60,000 Medical seats, no seat can be handed with least NEET score. Every Government college will have its own cut off for various categories. Tamilnadu is one of the States which has highest NEET cut offs given the reputation of the colleges and no.of candidates applying. Depending on the State you belong to, you can claim All India Quota and State Quota. For BC, the last year minimum cut off was 118-96. But this score will noy get you a seat forget about a seat in the best Government Medical College. Anything less than 450-475 cannot get you a Government seat.

The minimum marks required to get into the government medical college it varies based on category for ganeral category marks should be above 474 and where as for obc is above 400 marks and where as SC and st you should score above 290 marks the minimum marks of obs 96-118
