While GATE is a prestigious exam and your IIT background is impressive, most MBA programs in India, including IIMs, primarily consider CAT, GMAT, or other management entrance exams for admissions.

GATE scores are typically used for admissions to engineering-based postgraduate programs or for recruitment in PSUs. There might be a few exceptions like NITIE Mumbai which accepts GATE scores for specific MBA programs, but these are limited.

To increase your chances of getting into a top MBA program, I recommend focusing on preparing for management entrance exams like CAT or GMAT.
