Examination norms and rules differ with every university ,so whether you have to repeat theory paper as well or not depends on your college.Usually , in such cases , you will have only your practical exam pending which you will be allowed to appear only in the next year and you will not be required to rewrite theory paper.So kindly verify the same with your professor or seniors.
