If I join a medical college alloted from All India round 1 (in a different state), will they retain any of my original docs? Then if I get state college from state round 1, do I have to go back to the previous college to retrieve my docs?

If you join a medical college allotted through All India Quota (AIQ) Round 1 in a different state, the college will retain your original documents, such as NEET scorecard, allotment letter, and Class 10 and 12 certificates, as part of the admission process. This is a standard practice to confirm your admission. If you later get allotted a seat in your home state through State Round 1 and wish to take it, you will need to report to the first college and formally resign from the AIQ seat. Only after resignation will the original documents be returned. Therefore, you must physically visit the initial college to retrieve your documents before you can complete admission in the state college.

Yes, if you get a seat through All India Quota (AIQ) Round 1 and join the allotted medical college, they will keep your original documents like your NEET scorecard, certificates, and other required documents. This is a common process followed by all medical colleges to confirm your admission.

Now, if you get a better college in your state quota round later and you wish to join there, you will first need to resign from the AIQ seat within the specified time—usually before AIQ Round 2 begins. Only after resigning, the original documents will be returned by the first college. Once you collect your documents, you can proceed to the new state college and complete the admission process there. It’s very important to follow the proper timelines for resignation and reporting so that you don’t face any issues with eligibility in the next rounds.
