3000 would be pretty awesome rank, you will have to wait for 2nd or 3rd round councelling to get Medical seat in Kolkata. But you will get it.

My rank was 3021 and I am currently studying at RG Kar Medical COLLEGE, Kolkata.

However! You will have to wait for final round of councellings to get a college of your choice at Kolkata.
All the colleges are good. And a rank around 3000 will be very good.
