Dear Kartikay, your rank doesn't depend on which session you appear for JEE Mains. It depends on your score in JEE Mains and your Category. Candidates apply more or less in equal numbers for both the sessions. So it is just a myth that if you miss a session and appear for a particular session that you might get a better rank.
