Through your rank, getting a seat in NITs is difficult.However, you can try for IIITs and GFTIs.Getting a seat through jee mains rank in private state colleges is called b-category.The process of b-category is that you will have to wait till the respective college releases the notification and then apply to that college through your rank.But the college will consider your common rank list (crl) and not your category rank in jee mains.The chances of you getting a seat in jee mains solely depends on the college management and the number of students applying to that college along with you through b-category.The cutoff rank for a good college through jee mains will be 50000-60000 for a good branch
