If you are interested in Computer Science as a career option IIIT Hyderabad is the best to get into The course content ( Computer Science) is the best in the country ahead of IITs  and the campus has a great coding culture It is producing some of the best coders in the country who regularly win coding competitions

Students and parents , prefer IIT to IIITH and make a choice of brand over curriculum

Well that's a choice

Getting into IIITH is pretty tough

Got to score around 260 in Mains to get in

Next in preference order are IIIT Bangalore  and IIIT Delhi - for computer science

For CS these are better than NITs

But if choice of branch is other than CS , NITs would be a choice

The best NITs are in South India

The packages purely depends on which NITs and which IIITs you are taking about. Top IIITs have better packages and top NITs have good packages than new IIITs.
