The beauty of English hons is that it accepts students from every field, be it Science or Commerce. I myself was a Science student till my 12th grade and now I'm pursuing my Master's in English and was the Gold Medalist in my BA English Hons batch. This is partially the reason why English is a compulsory subject in every stream, i.e Science ,Commerce or Arts. So it's not that they only accept students from Arts backgrounds only. Some colleges even accept students from different backgrounds in their MA English Programs. I knew a girl who had done BSc triple major in botany, zoology and chemistry and she went ahead and pursued MA in English after that.

Talking about the job opportunities, they are endless- Research scholar, asst professor, content writer, content editor, proofreader, copyeditor, Public Relations, etc
