If you are fully interested in MBA only study for CAT/CMAT. Don't study for GATE , GATE exam has a different syllabus and its for M.Tech /ME courses.

firstly, it would be better to finalize which one you want to do. either MTech or MBA.  if you prepare for both of them then you are wasting your time. both MBA and MTech can wait and there will be no issue for gap years.

for MBA, IIM is the best campus. You can also choose IIT and NIT campus.  requirement, 95-99 percentile in CAT. You have to satisfy eligibility criteria for admission. You will have recognition if you do MBA from top reputed campus.

college option is searched based on score.  MBA in IT is a good option. it will help you in a good way if you are interested in startup. job option is also good for IT stream.
