I'm willing to apply for GATE. Since I have completed my Electronic Engineering (avg 5.82) from Mumbai University in 2019. Will I be eligible for any government jobs with 5.82 pointer & GATE score? If yes than which jobs & how much should be the GATE score? Please do guide.

Hello,

To be eligible for GATE you must have passed graduation in Engineering or technology or Masters in relevant discipline. There is no minimum percentage required. However, if you want to get admission in M.Tech or get a job in PSU you need to score the minimum percentage as specified in the qualifying exam. Cut off is different for each institute and PSU. For example the minimum cut off required for NTPC is 65% in B.E/B.Tech/AMIE and for KIOCL it is 75% marks or 7.9 CGPA for general category and for SC/ST it is 65% or 6.8 CGPA. So, you need to check the eligibility criteria before applying. And with such low CGPA it is difficult to get job in PSUs.
