Your preparation for JEE should be in tandem with your class 11th and 12th syllabus of PCM. Before going to the competition preparation ensure that you have a clear understanding of all the topics covered in your syllabus because that forms the basis of everything. Don't focus particularly on few topics only rather try to cover as many topics as possible for example  in mathematics, everything starting from algebra, functions, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, matrix and probability should be clear. And keep one thing in mind even if you have studied everything in a particular topic it's not necessary that you'll be able to answer everything related to it. So cover most of them so that you can answer more.
