Good luck
See for preparing yourself in JEE advanced there is no such thing that you should study 8hrs 10 hrs 12hrs and so on. First of all if you are in class 10 try to make your concept clear in each subject so that after being promoted to 11th standard, some parts of class 10 are included in 11th standard so in that case you should not be uncomfortable with solving that particular problems. Rather than that 11 and 12 i.e higher secondary is very much important for you because when you will be giving entrance exam the entire syllabus of 11th and 12th included in exam. And regarding how much time you want to study, it depends on you, if you were able to complete a particular topic in so called 1hr then it will take less time for you to recognise the topics. I will suggest you that make a particular time table and strictly act accordingly without any excuse. You need to decide that in these or that day i have to complete this chapter or topic so you have do it on that particular time, and for jee advanced you have to solve competitive problems for that you have to buy separate books and solve the problems. These are the few things in my view only one thing you should do that, make sure that the concept should be clear and you should have a proper grip on physics, chemistry and mathematics. Hope it helped you.
Good luck for your future study hard.
Study schedules are a personal thing and they are the best if made according to the students' needs and capabilities.
While for most people, long hours of study gets overwhelming, few can keep studying for more than 12 hours. Also, another important factor is the quality of studying. You can't daydream about Game of Thrones with a book open in front of you and say you studied a lot. You don't think about studies while playing on the Xbox, so you should also not think about Xbox while studying.
Therefore, keeping these things in mind, prepare your study schedule.
1.) See for how long you can study at a stretch. Recognise your breaking point.
2.) Then study everyday for those many hours. Try never to decrease your study time.
3.) Keep increasing your study time by half an hour every week.
4.) Do important topics first, then do the rest. This way you will be able to complete the whole syllabus.
5.) Stick to your schedule. Try not to break it.
6.) Take little breaks in between to relax your mind.
7.) You can even give yourself little treats when you accomplish a target.
I.) Increase your studying hours a month before your exams.
Every one is different and so are their learning capacities. Some are fast learners others are not. What make take you 1 hour to study may take me 3 hours. It doesn't matter how many hours you study, your output matters. Maybe you are studying for 6 hours a day and still do not achieve something substantial. Hours are just a unit of time, they have nothing to do with productivity.
You don't need to fix a certain number of hours to study you have to set goals as to the portion of syllabus you will do with a specific time period and make sure you fulfil that goal. The amount of hours you put in will not bring results, the amount of knowledge you gain and expertise you achieve in the subject will make you achieve your goals.
All the best!
