In Jee Advanced, is there any disassociation between paper 1 and paper 2 like in Jee Main (Paper 1- B.E/B.Tech, Paper 2- B.Arch) ?

Unlike JEE Main, the two papers in JEE Advanced are integrated and it is mandatory to give both of them. Both papers contain questions from physics, chemistry and mathematics. Questions can be objective or numerical type.  The pattern of the exam changes every year and so does the total marks. In 2018 the total marks were 180 for each paper whereas it was 183 in 2017.

Here is a list of type of questions in JEE Advanced 2019:

Paper-1

  • Single correct answer
  • One or more correct answer
  • Single digit integer
Paper-2

  • Single correct answer
  • One or more correct answer
  • Comprehension type
The two papers in IIT are given so that maximum syllabus is covered and students get maximum opportunity to show their potential.
