Hi,

With an SML rank of 6098 in Maharashtra under the OBC category, your chances of getting an MBBS seat in a government medical college will depend on how the cutoff trends in 2025. Looking at previous years’ data, the closing rank for OBC category in some government colleges is often within the range of 6,000–8,000 SML, but it varies by college and round. You might get seats in newer government colleges or semi-government colleges in later rounds. Keep an eye on state counseling rounds (including mop-up), and also consider applying for deemed/private colleges if budget permits.

Thank you for your question and best of luck !

If your Maharashtra OBC State Merit List rank for NEET 2025 is around 6098 you have a reasonable chance of securing an MBBS seat under the state quota . Historically OBC cutoff ranks for state quota in Maharashtra government colleges have ranged from about 5000 to 10000 depending on college and competition levels Getmyuni (https://www.getmyuni.com/articles/neet-cut-off-maharashtra?utm_source=chatgpt.com) Collegedunia (https://collegedunia.com/exams/neet/maharashtra-cutoff?utm_source=chatgpt.com) .
