In WBJEE physical verification, the income certificate should be in the name of the student’s parent/guardian , not the student. This is because the family income is considered for fee waiver or other benefits.

For WBJEE counselling,the income certificates is mainly needed if you're applying for TFW(Tuition Fee Waiver) scheme.The purpose is to prove your family's annual income.That's why the official WBJEE format mentions the income of the parents or guardian,and then it refers to the student as their ward.

So, practically the income certificate should be in your parent's or guardian's name,since they are the earning members.The student's name can be mentioned as ward,but the income details should be of the guardian.

Now,if somebody already made the certificate in the students name, sometimes verification officers may still accept it as long as the family income is clear, but to be on the safer side, it's better to get it in the guardian's name.
