IITs are the most renowned institution of the country. As you know the campus of IITs comprises a vast area consisting of eco friendly and green environment. They span around of acres of land and if one have to explore them on foot it will be hectic task. Also the classes happen at different buildings and they might far apart. Not just that during events and fest one have to travel from places to places. It will hard to move around the campus on foot so it is advisable to have bicycles.

During the starting of the year stalls will be set for students to buy cycles. It is not mandatory to buy it from the campus , you can even buy it from outside. If you are able to bring your bicycle then you can.
